The Indonesian government takes steps to accelerate vaccinations and tighten health
protocols to prevent the spread of omicron variants. Several experts believe the
Indonesian government should have entered the omicron variant at the end of
November. Due to late detection, it takes more effort to be able to do close contact
tracing and testing. The threat of a third wave of omicron looms over Indonesia as the rate of sample testing decreases with the passing of cases; 3 T improvements are
expected to suppress this new variant’s transmission rate.
