Starting July 29, 2022, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology blocked several electronic system providers, PSEs, that only registered at the specified deadline. Several foreign PSEs, such as Paypal financial transaction services, Amazon E-commerce services, Yahoo search engine services, Bing, and several streaming game sites such as Steam and Dota, were also blocked. The blocking of the PayPal site drew public criticism because it was considered troublesome for creative workers who used PayPal to pay for their services. The government finally unblocked PayPal on July 31, making it accessible again for 5 working days.
