Every October 28, we commemorate Youth Pledge Day. We remember the struggle of
the youth at that time for the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. At the Second
Youth Congress, 3 important figures led to the youth pledge. They were Muhammad
Yamin, Soegondo Djojopuspito and Amir Syarifudin. With the spirit of youth, they
consolidated in the middle of the colonial colony. Even though this event, the song
Indonesia Raya was first sung by the creator, WR Supratman. But who would have
thought that the place where the Second Youth Congress was held was a boarding
house?
